Sarah Besselink scored 15 points the Gee-Gees pulled away in the fourth quarter for a 61-52 victory. This is the first win at Capital Hoops for the Lady Gees Gees in over four years.
The Gee-Gees started the game strong in the first half going into the half with a 29-20 lead. A strong third quarter by the Ravens cut Ottawa’s lead to 39-37 heading into the fourth before the third-ranked Gee-Gees turned the momentum back in their favour to improve their record to 17-2. Brooklynn McAlear-Fanus scored 12 points for the Gee-Gees while Angela Ribarich added 11. For the Ravens, who hit only three of 26 three-point attempts, Nicole Gilmore posted a game-high 17 points with Cynthia Dupont chipping in with 15.
