Ottawa – 34
BC – 27
The Ottawa Redblacks secured a 34-27 victory over the B.C. Lions on Saturday night, extending their unbeaten streak at TD Place.
While the Redblacks remain undefeated at home, the Lions suffered their fifth consecutive loss and their second straight defeat with quarterback Nathan Rourke leading the offense. A tense moment occurred in the fourth quarter, with just over eight minutes remaining, when Jaelon Acklin leaped for a high pass in the end zone and was undercut by Lions defensive back T.J. Lee. Acklin crashed hard onto the turf, landing on his back. He remained on the field for several minutes as medical staff attended to him. An ambulance was eventually brought onto the field, and Acklin was placed on a stability board before being loaded onto a stretcher and transported to the hospital. Fortunately, reports indicate that Acklin has full movement in all his extremities, which is a relief.
