Cody Fajardo guided the Edmonton Elks to their third straight win Friday night, a 30-20 victory over the Ottawa Redblacks. Edmonton surged ahead 17-0 before Ottawa quarterback Dustin Crum closed the gap with two touchdowns to make it a three-point game, but the Elks sealed the result late with a Vincent Blanchard field goal. The win improved Edmonton to 4-6, while Ottawa dropped to 3-8, once again hampered by a slow start. The game was also marred by concern when Redblacks defensive lineman Daniel Okpoko was taken to hospital after a late injury; the team later confirmed he is responsive, has movement in all extremities, and remains under evaluation.
