Ottawa 21
Edmonton 29
The Edmonton Elks opened their 2026 season with a 29-21 road victory over the Ottawa Redblacks. Justin Rankin led the way, finishing just shy of 200 yards from scrimmage and breaking free for a spectacular 61-yard touchdown run. Edmonton built an early lead and kept Ottawa off balance for much of the game with strong execution on both sides of the ball. While the Redblacks rallied late to make it a one-score contest, too many mistakes throughout the night ultimately proved costly. Here are a few game images.
